Short Biography:
Chris Deeble is the Deputy Secretary of the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) in the Department of Defence.
Chris has extensive experience spanning the defence, industry and commercial sectors and working with Government. He also served for 37 years in the Australian Defence Force, most notably as an Air Vice-Marshal. He has operational experience.
His most recent Industry appointment was Chief Executive at Northrop Grumman Australia. Prior to that he worked for Airservices Australia as the program executive for OneSKY, responsible for delivering the Civil Military Air Traffic Management System for Australia.
Chris returned to CASG after previously holding the role of Senior Program Manager where he managed more than $25 billion of complex acquisition and sustainment programs including the Joint Strike Fighter, Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning and Control, Multi Role Tanker Transport and Collins Class Submarines.
Chris has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Sydney. He was awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross (CSC) in 2007, and recognized in 2016 as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO).

Recording and Working Media
As the Chatham House Rule will be in place for the Presentation and Q&A Sessions, there will be no official record of proceedings, private recordings or private imagery. Working media are able to attend but not report on the event. Reporting may only occur with prior express agreement from the Speaker(s).
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Registrations are refundable for cancellations received up to 10 working days before the event, less a $50 administration fee. However, another person or persons may be substituted at no additional cost. No refunds can be made after that date. No refunds are possible for confirmed sponsorships.
Meet The Chiefs Pty. Ltd. reserves the right to reschedule an event due to speaker or venue issues. As much notice as possible will be given. Refunds will not normally be available.
Seating Policy
Participants will be seated at round or oval tables of 8 or 10. Seats will be arranged so no participants have their back directly to the podium where possible.
Attendee Names, Badges & Dietary Requirements
Please provide names of those attending and any dietary requests, no less than 10 working days prior to the event - Friday, 13 February 2026. Otherwise no guarantee of a name badge or dietary request being met can be made.
